Features
Its elongated skull, conical teeth and dorsal sail were distinctive features.
Spinosaurus aegyptiacus was a theropod from Cretaceous North Africa. Its elongated skull, conical teeth and dorsal sail were distinctive features.
Scientific uncertainty
Swimming ability and the extent of underwater pursuit predation remain debated. The illustrated sail and tail outlines, body proportions and posture include reconstruction inference; the pose is not evidence of habitual posture or a particular feeding behaviour. Colour, soft tissues and posture in the reconstruction include inference.
