Features
Long neck, Long forelimbs.
Brachiosaurus altithorax was a sauropod characterised by its long neck and forelimbs.
Scientific uncertainty
Size estimates must distinguish genus, species and specimen scope. The illustrated head and body proportions include reconstruction inference; features confirmed in Giraffatitan specimens do not necessarily apply unchanged to this species. The type specimen does not include a skull or neck bones; the illustrated head and complete neck are not treated as an appearance directly established from that specimen. Colour, soft tissues and posture in the reconstruction include inference.
